🛫Spiel Essen, Tokyo Game Market🛫
Come see us at booth 4E400 in Essen. We did pre-orders and sold out of 99% of Otter and Capybara Crush already, so we'll print more hopefully in time for Tokyo Game Market and to airship to anyone interested for Christmas.
It's summer and the Capybaras are out for a swim, saving baby animals! If you like spatial puzzles like Azul, Cascadia, and Sagrada, you have to check this out. Capybara Crush super solo friendly and has rules for both a casual but crunchy game, and also an advanced puzzly trick taking version called Trickybara!
Most games and plushies for Doom Cat were shipped a few weeks ago and should have arrived or should be arriving at your home soon!
If you didn't get a tracking number yet, don't panic. A few orders that are delayed from either not filling out the address or paying shipping, or because we temporarily ran out of pins in my warehouse. I will go through the orders again starting this weekend and message you if you have a special case delaying your shipment.
If you did get a tracking number and it didn't work, we have a work-around to fix that. Go to https://fulfillship.nextsmartship.com/track and put in your tracking number, which starts with NSS and has like 19 or 20 digits after it. Some tracking URLS sent had glitches and the tracking number was typed twice, so just delete the second NSS and second string of numbers after that and it should work. Sorry for the inconvenience!

🏭Printing progress🏭
Rules, Cards, Boxes, Pens, Dice files all submitted. Awaiting sample print to confirm final print of the game! The factory estimated everything will take 1 month to finish, so we'll open the pledge manager then.
Meanwhile, the plushies are done and they are beautiful! They will ship to my warehouse next week and I'll post more pictures later!
🎲Gameplay progress🎲
During the 6 month wait, we played and improved Doom Cat. I found teaching the game a couple minutes too long, so some of the esoteric rules like blank candles and combos are now optional rules in the Familiar cards.
Solo scoring is now all the same regardless of goals--70vp per Sigil Card to win. And the rules include 18 different setups with ranked complexity that are good starts for both solo and multiplayer.
The biggest update is that I added small visual examples to every single goal card. The game is much easier to pick up, and goals are much easier to set up and play!
I need to finish a lot of other small things, but after I get through those I'll post the new PNP files for you to download and enjoy before things get sent out!

Otter, a cute little card game, will be available in the Doom Cat pledge manager (which should open in April)! However, if you want to help me out, I would love if you pledge a dollar on the Otter backerkit campaign to help the algorithm push me more, and you can unlock the PNP files immediately. Or if you're interested in cute nature games, my friend made a game called Underleaf, and if you back Underleaf and Otter now, you get some cool free gifts (a little frog plushie that will be sold in the Doom Cat PM, and an exclusive Otter pin that won't be in the Doom Cat PM).
I wrote so many blog updates in February and never published them because the information was changing so rapidly. Last month I was worried about losing de minimis exemptions and paying higher duties and tariffs. Seems like so long ago now, but we still have no idea what will happen with shipping costs next week. I'm hoping April is a good time to open up the PM and hoping May is a good time to send everything.

I postponed the Capybara Crush kickstarter campaign until May so I could do Otter first.
So what's left for Doom Cat? Final playtesting for the Eldritch expansion cards, final testing for the solo score goals, final testing for last few spell circles, and final box design. As we make progress, I'll upload the PnP files and maybe do some live streams of the solo game!
